Family history research is a fascinating game. We regularly uncover stories of incredible bravery, crazy stunts and daring adventures, ancestors who have lived especially courageous, full or even tragic lives; not to mention what we go through to get those stories, from poking about in dusty old archives, navigating modern streets from ancient maps, to wading through graveyards full of nettles! Some of these stories are just too good to keep to ourselves so we've decided it was about time to start a blog!
Our regular feature, Name of the Month, will celebrate some of the most interesting or unusual first names and surnames that we have come across - and, believe us, there are some really good ones! In addition, we will post occasional pieces under the headings Adventures in Family History, and Amazing Ancestors which will recount some of the most interesting stories of the research process and the people it uncovers. If any clients would like to nominate their ancestors to be part of either Name of the Month or Amazing Ancestors, please let us know! In the meantime, look out for our first post coming next week!
